Andrew Hopgood – Artist
Andrew Hopgood’s career began in commercial illustration using traditional mediums such as acrylic, gouache, watercolor and scraperboard then later transitioning to a digital platform. He started painting in oil around 2017 and had his first solo debut at Tacit Galleries in Collingwood Victoria, March 2022.
There’s a narrative to his work that blurs the lines between reality and fantasy His use of juxtaposition and metaphor emphasizes the plight of our endangered wildlife and provides a forum for conversations about wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting endangered species.
He has since been involved in group shows at both Beinart Gallery in Brunswick and Salt Contemporary Gallery in Queenscliff.
